Just today I uploaded the RSM mod made by Zeroy. Let me tell you, it sure brings back memories. So far testing has been done with Gunz, Bloody, Killa, and Mindrot. I think we would all agree that its shorts filling fun! There is just one problem with this current release. RSM 1.5 has two files that need to be downloaded, mod.ff and z_riflemod.iwd, here in lies the problem, for some reason linux doesn't like the file mod.ff and won't let you download it. Next release should fix this. So from now we will just have manually download the required file to enjoy a flash back to a simpler 1944 played in the future...? Links are as follows, Mod.ff and z_riflemod.iwd. These both need to be placed in you mods/rsm/ directory. The default is C:Program FilesActivisionCall of Duty 4 - Modern WarfareModsrsm.
So lets just hope RSM 1.6 comes out soon so that other players can enjoy it.
By the way if you weren't paying any attention a new survey has sprug to life on this website. Take a gander at the right hand side of the page.
-Review of RSM Mod-
Presentation: 8/10 Zeroy did a great job presenting us with the old Call of Duty 2 rifles. Making it seem like your playing CoD2 on CoD4's game engine.
Graphics: 7/10 Although this is Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare where the graphics are of superior quality some of the animations are laking. Some rifles also do not behave as we all remember them.
Sound: 10/10 Porting over all the old Call of Duty 2 sounds is great and gives us that warm and fuzzy feeling inside.
Gameplay: 6/10 Gameplay is well, rifletastic. But the ability to shoot through walls really takes away from this mod. Knifing is a severely easy task when game is played in normal and switching it to hardcore changes the gameplay completely.
Lasting Appeal: 7/10 This mod has a lot of potential as long as they keep it simple and true to being a rifle mod. You can easily get caught playing this for hours at a time.
OVERALL: 7/10

"Great news! Heads up that the Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare Variety Map Pack sponsored by NVIDIA will be available worldwide for our PC players next week on June 5th!
NVIDIA is making it possible for PC players to download the map pack for Free on the PC thanks to their sponsorship. In addition, expect to see quite a few promotions popping up leading up to the launch of the map packs on the 5th and beyond. I know NVIDIA has a lot of great things planned for PC users in addition to maps becoming available.
There’s going to be some PC specific previews going up online this weekend I believe that will cover how well the maps play on the PC version as well as some contests and promotions happening all next week. I’ll be posting up details on them as they get started all this week!
The Variety Map Pack includes four new maps for Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare multiplayer including Broadcast, Chinatown, Killhouse, and Creek." -codfiles.com

KHRONE writes "We won the 5v5 Search and Destroy match for COD4!
We're currently ranked 72 out of just under 250 teams... but we're moving up quick, pwning many noobs along the way.
The first half of the game wasn't quite in our favor, but we knew we had the upper hand skill wise. After all, we'er JtBoyz. We went 3 wins and 6 losses in the first half, but the second half was in our favor though, since we were defending. We took 8 wins and lost 2 times. All together, we scored with 11 wins 8 losses.
We have left tears in our path and much bloodshed. After wiping the exploded brains off our enemies of our visors, we patted ourselves on the back and even went so far as to tell the remaining enemy soldiers happy easter. We respected the fallen, and so did they. It was a good match. "

Have demos that you recorded from CoD4 and find watching them to be a difficult process? Well some guy on http://www.cybopat.net/ came up with a nice little program to watch these. Just open them and hit play. Great for recapturing the video for on fraps and such.
Well the Long awaited Beta 2 patch for INS has been released . Seems there are problems on the server side of this patch and the Dev's have indicated that a hotfix will be released possibly as soon as tommorow . I had a server up but it crashed at every map change so lets hope hotfix is released ASAP . Here is a direct link hosted on our webspace so you dont have to wait in line or register with some silly file website
It seems as though they are changing the way the patch. They are releasing smaller patches instead of releasing larger ones as they did in the past.
The 1.2 Patch is meant to fix a left lean issue that has been there since day one. Also it prepares the game for the mod tools that will be released in the near future.
It's official! The Insurgency Team would like to announce that client files for Insurgency Beta 2 will be available on the 21st of November 2007 from the popular website FilePlanet. Server files will be released on the 19th of November and distributed to public mirrors. Download links will be published in our downloads section as soon as they become available.
We have also created a cinematic trailer to announce the inminent release of Beta 2. Download and Stream links will be available from our downloads section. Amongst other things, the new trailer will let you take a sneak peek at the new map, ins_samawah, just before the battle between the Insurgents and the Coalition Forces begins.
The full changelog of Insurgency Beta 2 will also be made available shortly from our official forums so that you can check what's in and what's out in this new and much anticipated version.
Stay tuned during the rest of the week: we will be posting new screenshots, 3d panoramas, and other useful information for you to enjoy while waiting during these last few days."
Once the new beta 2 patch is released I will post it here as well.
thanks GuNz
